We hope you had an excellent holiday season and we thank you for being a part of the Media Management, Economics and Entrepreneurship Division! Support from members like you makes it possible for our division to serve and advance our field. We hope you will enjoy all of the opportunities MMEE has to offer in 2019!

Preparations for the AEJMC Midwinter Conference in March are well underway and the reviews will soon be complete. Accepted papers are eligible to be resubmitted to the national AEJMC conference, and resubmissions are highly encouraged. The division will also honor the top paper at the Midwinter Conference.

We hope to see you all in Toronto.

On August 6, MMEE will co-host an exciting, hands-on pre-conference titled “Minorities, Media Management and Entrepreneurship: A Diversity Teaching Deep-Dive” with the Minorities and Communication Division. Mark your diaries!

Please consider submitting your papers to our division – find the call for papers here: https://mmedivision.wordpress.com/2018/12/15/mmee-of-aejmc-2019-paper-call/.
We would particularly love to see more student papers; remember, MMEE membership is free for graduate students.

Soon calls to nominate candidates for the awards in our division will be sent out. Please begin thinking about potential nominees for the

  • Barry Sherman Teaching Award
  • Robert Picard Award for Book and Monographs
  • and the Professional Freedom and Responsibility Award.

Please also use our MMEE blog and social media to share your ideas on MMEE research, academic partnerships, teaching resources, job offers, grants, etc.

On behalf of the MMEE executive board, we are happy to serve you and the interests of MMEE this year.
